The Study on Coordinated Development between Water Resources and National Economy is the first time for China to study the interaction and coordination between water resources and national economy, which has played a pioneering role in developing relations between water resources and national economy. After almost ten years’ hard work, key technical system of the interaction between water resources and national economy were put in place at three levels, namely relationship description, threshold defining and regulation interaction. Innovative ideas, theories and technologies were applied to develop overall integration of original technology and existing technology. By conducting in-depth and systematic quantitative studies of ten large river basins, more profound and rational knowledge about China’s water resources has been obtained, thus solving a host of basic problems that affected China’s water resources development.
