Dr.WANG Hao put forward the theory of "nature-society" dualistic watercycle and developed the corresponding model NADUWA3E. By applying the theory and model, he has made a systematic evaluation on the evolutionary laws of water cycle and the changing tendency of water resources in most of the riversin northern China, including but not limited to the Yellow River Basin, Haihe River Basin, Songhuajiang-Liaohe River Basin. Giving full consideration to both regional socio-economic development and demand for water resources, he has presided over the planning for many major water projects, such as Datonghe-to-Huangshui Water Diversion Project in Qinghai Province, water transfer project in central Yunnan Province, water diversion project for cities in central Jilin Province, Yangtze River-to-Huanhe River Water Diversion Project in Anhui Province. He has proposed the water resources allocation patterns for such important energy bases as Erdos City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regionand Shanxi Province, and such river basins as the Songhuajiang-Liaohe River Basin, Yellow River Basin, Haihe River Basin as well as northwestern inland river basins. He has conducted integrated water resources planning for many provinces or cities, including Hainan Province, Tianjin Municipality, Tangshan City, Qingyang City, Yan’an City and Chengdu City, to name just a few. In one word, all the work done by Dr. WANG Hao holds the key to the socio-economic development and eco-environmental health for all the above-mentioned regionsand river basins.
